2020 Chevrolet Colorado LT

Posted: Tue. Nov. 5 23:04:00 2019

I’m renting one while my truck is getting body work done. It’s not a bad truck, but I wouldn’t buy one.

Pros:
-good gas milage (great for a truck)
-everything you would expect in a new truck (backup camera, Bluetooth/CarPlay, onstar, the inside just looks nice)
-light in the truckbed
-handles nicely

Cons:
-latency issues everywhere. Turning on brights/blinkers, A/C, lock button...all of this has a slight but noticeable delay. The biggest latency issue is the Bluetooth audio/phone screen difference. When the kids want to watch a movie there’s this annoying delay. Plugging my phone in the USB doesn’t help.
-the seats are uncomfortable. This could easily be remedied by a new pair of seats, but this is another thing that shouldn’t be a concern.
-bad compartments. This is another thing that doesn’t sound like a big deal but becomes a nuisance when it’s your daily driver. There’s a deep center console, a small tray under dash, and the space between the side door and the seat that are hard to reach even by smaller hands than mine.
-not much room in the back.

Overall it seems like Chevy didn’t really care if driving it was a good experience, they just put it out there and didn’t really care about it.
It’s a rental so it’s probably the base model, maybe the other versions are better.
